My Php5,000 Challenge
I used to enjoy TV shows where guests are challenged to put together an outfit for a ridiculously small amount, and the guests usually manage it. I did my own version of this challenge when I visited All Home. There is no way you could miss the various branches of All Home all over the metro – they’re those standalone shops for all things you need for your home – tiles, paint, bath tubs, home decor, appliances, kitchen supplies, and many more. I went to the All Home branch in Antipolo a few weeks ago. What a HUGE place – 3 glorious floors of good finds for the home, mostly on SALE! So with a maximum budget of P5,000, I roamed all 3 floors to see what it can get me. Check out the floor map.
I enjoyed window shopping at the sections on mattresses, kitchen supplies, and home organization solutions. I will definitely go back when it’s time for a major home project.
As for my little self-imposed challenge, check out what my P5,000 got me:
Lots of Items on Sale
These ones were hugely marked down: a fancy new knife, 2 sets of cutlery, and a rechargeable emergency lamp (we had this at home, but given today’s situation, you can never be too prepared). All others are small items I don’t notice need replenishment at home, like new hangers (having a baby and a toddler means lots of laundry!). As a homemaker, the cost of these little things pile up, so I would take all the savings I can get.
Aside from good value, plus points for me in shopping at All Home are:
- Clean restrooms
- Huge elevator and spacious escalators
- Wide product selection
- Ample parking space
It’s literally a one-stop shop. I even saw a pets supply section, so I can get food, treats and more for little Patchi!
