Summer is almost here (we’ve been feeling the heat already!), and with most kids on school break, us parents are busy googling summer activities for our kids. From a parent’s lens, my specific requirements are: it must be a non-academic activity (it’s the summer break, after all), it must be fun, and it must open my child to new experiences, especially those with learning opportunities. So it was quite timely and lucky that we got invited to the preview of Krispy Kreme’s summer activities last February 25.
Easter Egg Hunt
On April 16, drop by Krispy Kreme’s newly renovated Bonifacio High Street flagship store at BGC for an egg-citing Easter Hunt for kids aged 6-10 years. It will be the perfect play date for the kids, as fun prizes and surprise treats are in store for them.
For Kids Aged 6-12
The Summer Workshop is for 6-12 year old kids, and will be a combination of fun games and learning sessions. Participants get to play Kiddie Barista or Doughnut Masters, and learn how to be on the other
side of the counter. Kids will have the opportunity to learn about work and discipline, while being in a fun environment (and wow, to be in that heaven-smelling doughnuts factory for the day!).
For teens and college students aged 15-22, they can take part in Krispy Kreme’s Summer Job Program. The month-long paid training will immerse participants in the doughnut and coffee business (just typing these 2 words is making me crave…), and arm them with life skills (yay, productive summer!)
For a sweeter experience, families can enjoy awesome pairings of signature coffee, doughnuts, Baked Creations, and my toddler’s favourite, the new Doughnut Holes (round, bite-sized doughnuts in different flavours like Matcha, Red Velvet, Churro, Chocolate, and more). These fan-favourite combos will be offered through limited edition coupons.
Krispy Kreme Moments
I remember watching Sex and the City when I was in high school (haha, don’t tell my parents!), especially that episode of Miranda salivating after glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts. That was in my mind when I lined up for my first taste of warm, fresh, Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts when it entered Philippine shores 10 years ago (wow, time really flies!). Since then, it had been part of unique joyful experiences for me and my family.
Me and my then boyfriend (and now husband) loved getting those warm, fresh-off-the-glaze-machine doughnuts 10 years ago (remember those free pieces they give you while you wait in line?), and we still love them now that we have kids and making memories with them. #KrispyKremeMoments just leave all sorts of happy feelings inside.
So go to the nearest Krispy Kreme branch near you, grab some of those doughnut-coffee pairings, and ask about summer activities for your kids!
